The Arena Group and Playwire Partner to Bring High-Impact Ad Inventory to Scale

The Arena Group Holdings, Inc., a leading brand, data, and intellectual property (IP) company, has announced a strategic partnership with Playwire, an ad monetization platform for digital publishers. This collaboration aims to bring high-impact advertising inventory to scale, leveraging The Arena Group’s portfolio of well-known brands and Playwire’s advanced ad formats.

The Arena Group is home to a diverse range of recognizable brands, including TheStreet, Parade, Men’s Journal, Athlon Sports, Surfer, and ShopHQ. These brands collectively offer a wide reach and engagement, making them attractive to advertisers seeking to connect with their target audiences. By partnering with Playwire, The Arena Group is enhancing its ability to deliver impactful advertising solutions to marketers.

Playwire, known for its innovative ad monetization platform, has developed a unique set of high-impact advertising formats collectively referred to as the Flex Suite. These formats utilize code-on-page technology to provide custom placements that go beyond the limitations of standard programmatic advertising. The Flex Suite includes several ad formats designed to capture user attention and engagement effectively.

One of the key formats in the Flex Suite is Flex Video, a large-format mobile video that loads above the content and remains sticky as the user scrolls. These 15-second creatives are built to capture attention and keep it, ensuring that advertisers can make a strong first impression. Another notable format is Flex Skin, a cross-platform, adhesive, dynamic unit that compresses as users scroll and supports video and shoppable features. This format is highly sought after by premium brands due to its versatility and ability to blend seamlessly into the user experience.

Flex Rail, another format in the Flex Suite, is a full-screen interactive mobile canvas that loads as an animated overlay. It prompts the user to expand for a large-format video or interactive experience, then collapses and stays in view. This format provides a unique and engaging way for advertisers to connect with users, offering a memorable ad experience.

Additionally, any Flex Suite unit can be upgraded to a Roadblock (SOV Add-On), which guarantees 100% Share of Voice (SOV) by blocking out the competition entirely on the first impression across The Arena Group’s network. This feature ensures that advertisers can capture the full attention of their target audience during the critical first moments of engagement.

Chris Heck, VP of Integrated Marketing at The Arena Group, highlighted the synergy between Playwire’s sales force and their premier brand portfolio. He stated, “The strategic partnership between Playwire and The Arena Group represents a significant opportunity for scale. By integrating Playwire’s Flex Suite across our properties, such as Parade and Men’s Journal, we are providing advertisers with streamlined access to a curated ecosystem of premium advertising opportunities.”

This partnership not only enhances The Arena Group’s ability to deliver impactful advertising solutions but also positions both companies to leverage their strengths and reach a broader audience. With the Flex Suite’s advanced ad formats and The Arena Group’s diverse brand portfolio, advertisers can now access a powerful combination of scale, engagement, and customization to achieve their marketing goals.

In conclusion, the collaboration between The Arena Group and Playwire is a significant development in the digital advertising landscape. By combining The Arena Group’s well-established brands with Playwire’s innovative ad formats, the partnership offers advertisers a unique opportunity to reach their target audiences in a meaningful and impactful way. As both companies continue to grow and expand their offerings, this strategic alliance is poised to deliver exceptional results for all parties involved.

UI backwards compatibility
UI backwards compatibility
About once a month, an app that I regularly use will change its UI in a way that breaks muscle memory, basically tricking the user into doing things they don’t want. Zulip In recent memory, Zulip (a slack competitor) changed its newline behavior so that ctrl + enter sends a message instead of inserting a new line. After this change, I sent a number of half-baked messages and it seemed like some other people did too. Around the time they made that change, they made another change such that a series of clicks that would cause you to send a private message to someone would instead cause you to send a private message to the alphabetically first person who was online. Most people didn’t notice that this was a change, but when I mentioned that this had happened to me a few times in the past couple weeks, multiple people immediately said that the exact same thing happened to them. Some people also mentioned that the behavior of navigation shortcut keys was changed in a way that could cause people to broadcast a message instead of sending a private message. In both cases, some people blamed themselves and didn’t know why they’d just started making mistakes that caused them to send messages to the wrong place. Doors A while back, I was at Black Seed Bagel, which has a door that looks 75% like a “push” door from both sides when it’s actually a push door from the outside and
