Tariff Hike 2026: Jio Quietly Cuts Rs 195 Pack Validity From 90 Days to 30 Days

Reliance Jio has recently revised its popular Rs 195 Cricket Data Pack, significantly altering its value proposition for users. The pack, which was previously available with a longer duration of 90 days, now offers a validity of just 30 days, marking a notable shift in its structure. Despite this reduction in validity, the data benefits remain largely unchanged, with subscribers still receiving a total of 15 GB of high-speed data. Once the allotted data is exhausted, users can continue to access the internet at a reduced speed of 64 Kbps.

The revised Jio Rs 195 Cricket Data Pack remains a data-only plan, with no voice or SMS benefits included. However, it continues to bundle a complimentary JioHotstar mobile subscription for 90 days, catering to users interested in streaming cricket and other content. This added subscription benefit is a significant draw for fans looking to watch live matches or on-demand content.

The sharp reduction in validity from 90 days to 30 days effectively increases the monthly cost for consumers, making the revision significant for prepaid users. While the total data quota remains the same, the shorter validity period means that users must now top up their data packs more frequently, which could impact their budgets. Despite this change, the Rs 195 Cricket Data Pack still offers a substantial amount of data for a reasonable price, making it a popular choice among cricket enthusiasts.

In addition to the revised Rs 195 pack, Jio has also made changes to its other Cricket Data Pack offerings. The Jio Rs 79 Cricket Data Pack now provides 3GB of high-speed data with a validity of 30 days, along with a JioHotstar mobile subscription for 30 days. This pack is ideal for users who require a smaller data quota but still want access to cricket content.

Jio has also increased the data benefit on its existing Rs 100 data pack. The Jio Rs 100 Data Pack now offers 6GB (previously 5GB) of high-speed data with a validity of 30 days. Users can continue to access the internet at a reduced speed of 64 Kbps after consuming the high-speed data. Additionally, the pack comes with a JioHotstar mobile subscription for 30 days, enhancing its appeal for cricket fans.

Lastly, Jio offers a higher-value data pack priced at Rs 149, which provides 10GB of high-speed data with a validity of 30 days. This pack is designed for users who require even more data and want to enjoy uninterrupted streaming of cricket matches and other content.

With these revisions, Jio has adjusted its Cricket Data Pack offerings to better align with the changing needs of its users. While the reduction in validity period may seem like a drawback, the increased monthly cost and enhanced data benefits could make these packs more attractive to certain segments of the market. As the 2026 Tariff Hike comes into effect, Jio's Cricket Data Packs will continue to be a popular choice for cricket enthusiasts seeking affordable and reliable internet access during the cricket season.

Clojure 1.11.3
Clojure 1.11.3
Clojure 1.11.3 is now available. CLJ-2843 - Reflective calls to Java methods that take primitive long or double now work when passed a narrower boxed number at runtime (Integer, Short, Byte, Float). Previously, these methods were not matched during reflection and an error was thrown. Java 21 added an overload to the method Thread/sleep in the 1-arity. When upgrading to Java 21, existing Clojure calls to Thread/sleep become reflective, but continue to work. As usual, you can detect reflection with *warn-on-reflection* and address with a type hint (here, ^long ) to choose the desired overload. Previously, passing a Short or Integer value to a reflective call like Thread/sleep that takes a long would not match, that has been corrected.
