One of the stars of smash hit comedy The Studio launches a quizshow: Best podcasts of the week

Mindy Kaling is the first celebrity to join Ike Barinholtz in a lovable new series. Plus: a moreish pod about being single in your 30s “Oh, this is a quizshow?!” exclaims Mindy Kaling, not so much maligning actor and gameshow champ Ike Barinholtz’s (pictured) new podcast as misunderstanding it. She’s soon up to speed with his mix of trivia questions and meandering chat (which in Kaling’s case touches on everything from Chevy Chase to New Jersey Italian food). One of the stars of smash hit comedy The Studio launches a quizshow: Best podcasts of the week

Mindy Kaling, a star of the hit comedy series "The Office," has joined forces with actor and comedian Ike Barinholtz for a new podcast. The pair's collaboration marks the first appearance of a celebrity guest on Barinholtz's quizshow-style podcast, which blends trivia questions with casual conversation.

The podcast, which has been described as a "low-stakes" entry into the celebrity interview genre, features Barinholtz quizzing his guests with a mix of trivia and open-ended questions. In the episode with Kaling, she initially expressed surprise at the show's format, exclaiming, "Oh, this is a quizshow?!" However, she quickly became engaged in the conversation, which ranged from topics like Chevy Chase to New Jersey Italian cuisine.

Barinholtz, known for his work on "Saturday Night Live" and his role in the HBO series "Catharsis," has built a reputation as a skilled interviewer and quizmaster. His podcast, which has been described as "amiable" and "moreish," offers a refreshing take on the celebrity interview format. Unlike many other podcasts in the same vein, Barinholtz's show prioritizes a conversational tone, allowing guests to share personal anecdotes and insights in a relaxed environment.

Kaling, who gained widespread recognition for her role as Kelly Kapoor on "The Office" and later created the critically acclaimed series "The Mindy Project," brings her signature wit and humor to the podcast. Her appearance showcases her ability to engage with a variety of topics, from pop culture to personal experiences, in a way that is both entertaining and insightful.

The podcast is available widely, with new episodes released weekly. Listeners can expect a mix of trivia challenges and lighthearted banter, making it an enjoyable listen for fans of both Barinholtz and Kaling. As the podcast continues to feature other notable guests, it promises to offer a unique and engaging perspective on the world of celebrity interviews.

In an era where the podcast landscape is increasingly crowded, Barinholtz's quizshow-style approach offers a welcome change of pace. By blending trivia with casual conversation, the podcast provides a platform for guests to connect with audiences on a more personal level. With Kaling's debut episode already garnering positive attention, it remains to be seen how the show will evolve and continue to captivate listeners in the weeks and months to come.

As the podcast industry continues to grow, listeners are increasingly seeking out unique and engaging content. Barinholtz's quizshow-style podcast, with its amiable tone and mix of trivia and conversation, offers just that. With Mindy Kaling as the first celebrity guest, the show has already set the stage for a promising future, promising to deliver a fresh take on the celebrity interview format.

UI backwards compatibility
UI backwards compatibility
About once a month, an app that I regularly use will change its UI in a way that breaks muscle memory, basically tricking the user into doing things they don’t want. Zulip In recent memory, Zulip (a slack competitor) changed its newline behavior so that ctrl + enter sends a message instead of inserting a new line. After this change, I sent a number of half-baked messages and it seemed like some other people did too. Around the time they made that change, they made another change such that a series of clicks that would cause you to send a private message to someone would instead cause you to send a private message to the alphabetically first person who was online. Most people didn’t notice that this was a change, but when I mentioned that this had happened to me a few times in the past couple weeks, multiple people immediately said that the exact same thing happened to them. Some people also mentioned that the behavior of navigation shortcut keys was changed in a way that could cause people to broadcast a message instead of sending a private message. In both cases, some people blamed themselves and didn’t know why they’d just started making mistakes that caused them to send messages to the wrong place. Doors A while back, I was at Black Seed Bagel, which has a door that looks 75% like a “push” door from both sides when it’s actually a push door from the outside and
