IPL 2026: Anushka Sharma, Sania Mirza light up RCB’s winning night

Bengaluru: The IPL 2026 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday night was more than just a cricket spectacle; it became a glamorous event in the stands as well. The high-octane encounter was elevated by the presence of tennis icon Sania Mirza, entrepreneur-singer Ananya Birla, and actress Anushka Sharma, who passionately cheered for RCB. Their star power added an extra layer of excitement to the already electrifying atmosphere.

Photos and videos of the trio celebrating together quickly went viral on social media platforms, capturing their infectious energy that mirrored the mood of the stadium. As RCB sealed a commanding victory, the presence of these celebrities added to the festive atmosphere and drew significant attention.

Ananya Birla later shared a candid moment with Sania Mirza and her son, Izhaan Mirza Malik, on Instagram. In a warm and affectionate caption, she wrote, “As always forgot to take a picture together. Found this somewhere thankyou and I Love You Api @mirzasaniar and Izzu you’re the best.” The post highlighted the close bond between the three and added to the excitement surrounding the match.

On the pitch, RCB delivered a dominant performance, posting a massive total of 250/3. In response, Chennai Super Kings fought hard but were eventually bowled out for 207, handing RCB a convincing 43-run win. This victory marks RCB’s second consecutive triumph in the IPL 2026 season, boosting their early momentum in the tournament.

Off the field, Ananya Birla’s growing association with the franchise has been making headlines. As part of a consortium led by the Aditya Birla Group, she reportedly played a role in acquiring the RCB franchise earlier this year. Her involvement with the team has not only brought attention to the franchise but also strengthened its presence in the cricket world.

Sania Mirza, on the other hand, continues to share a strong bond with the RCB team. She previously served as a mentor for the RCB Women’s side, where she guided players on handling pressure and mental resilience. Her presence at the match not only added star power but also demonstrated her continued support for the team.

The match was a run-fest that showcased the skills and determination of both teams. However, it was the celebrity-filled stands that left a lasting impression on fans, turning the event into a memorable night of cricket and glamour. As the IPL 2026 season progresses, fans can expect more such exciting encounters and unexpected highlights that make the tournament truly special.

Clojure 1.11.3
Clojure 1.11.3
Clojure 1.11.3 is now available. CLJ-2843 - Reflective calls to Java methods that take primitive long or double now work when passed a narrower boxed number at runtime (Integer, Short, Byte, Float). Previously, these methods were not matched during reflection and an error was thrown. Java 21 added an overload to the method Thread/sleep in the 1-arity. When upgrading to Java 21, existing Clojure calls to Thread/sleep become reflective, but continue to work. As usual, you can detect reflection with *warn-on-reflection* and address with a type hint (here, ^long ) to choose the desired overload. Previously, passing a Short or Integer value to a reflective call like Thread/sleep that takes a long would not match, that has been corrected.
