Crisis At Kult: Unpaid Employees, Missing Funds, And Blurred Chain Of Command

In May 2025, Kult E-Commerce Private Limited emerged as a reborn entity, promising a fresh start after a tumultuous past. However, the company's narrative of a clean slate quickly turned out to be a facade, as unpaid employees and missing funds became the new reality. Now, eleven months later, the situation at Kult has escalated into a full-blown crisis, with over 100 employees still owed their wages for months, some since November 2025. Brands and vendors, too, have been left in the lurch, with unpaid commissions leading to financial hardships and job losses for many.

The central figures in this unfolding drama are Rahul Yadav and his wife, Karishma Singh. Yadav's entrepreneurial journey has been marked by controversies, but Singh's name only came into the spotlight during our investigation into Broker Network, Yadav's previous venture. Kult was an integral part of Broker Network's web of interconnected entities, as reported by Inc42, and now the new Kult is continuing this pattern. This time, they have the audacity to keep the same name, as if nothing has changed.

The situation at Kult is akin to a game of Whac-A-Mole, where each problem that is addressed immediately gives way to another. Over 200 employees have experienced this churn, with Info Edge, the investor that backed Zomato and Policybazaar, also falling victim to the chaos. Kult and Rahul Yadav now blame the M3M family office, another significant business entity, for the mess. Yet, none of these stakeholders have managed to "Whack the Mole" and resolve the issues.

Kult E-Commerce Private Limited was incorporated in 2024, but the brand's history dates back to its association with Broker Network. The company's current crisis stems from a blurred chain of command and a lack of transparency in financial dealings. Employees and vendors are left in the dark about the company's financial health, making it difficult for them to trust management's assurances.

The allegations against Kult have grown louder, with many accusing the company of willfully ignoring its financial obligations. The situation has become so dire that Info Edge, a reputable investor, has been dragged into the mess. This has raised questions about the due diligence that was done before investing in Kult.

Rahul Yadav and Karishma Singh have been at the center of controversies before, and this latest crisis at Kult seems to be a continuation of their pattern of mismanagement. The company's refusal to change its name, even after the problems at Broker Network, suggests a lack of accountability and a willingness to repeat past mistakes.

As the situation at Kult continues to unravel, it remains unclear whether the company will be able to recover from this crisis. The unpaid employees and vendors are left to grapple with the consequences of financial instability, while investors like Info Edge must question their decision to back a company that seems incapable of managing its affairs responsibly.

In the end, the story of Kult is a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked ambition and a lack of transparency. The company's failure to address its financial woes and communicate effectively with its stakeholders has left a trail of heartache and frustration in its wake. As the crisis continues, it remains to be seen whether Kult can find a way out of the hole it has dug for itself, or if it will be yet another example of a company that has left its employees and investors holding the bag.
