The Group One event, worth a staggering HK$24 million, is set to feature three potential contenders: Invincible Ibis, Stormy Grove, and Little Paradise, each having claimed victory in their respective Classic races.

Invincible Ibis, the Hong Kong Derby (2,000m) winner, has already established himself as a formidable competitor in the Classic Series. His victory in the Derby, Hong Kong's premier race for four-year-olds, showcased his endurance and stamina, qualities that will be crucial in the 1,600m Champions Mile. The connections of Invincible Ibis have expressed their interest in the race, hinting at the possibility of a strong challenge against his Classic rivals.

Stormy Grove, the Classic Cup (1,800m) victor, has also expressed a keen interest in the Champions Mile. The Cup, known for its grueling pace, has been a stepping stone for many top-class performers. Stormy Grove's win in this race demonstrated his ability to handle high-pressure situations and maintain his pace throughout the distance. With the Champions Mile being a shorter race, Stormy Grove's speed and tactical prowess could give him an edge over his rivals.

The most recent addition to the list of potential Champions Mile contenders is Little Paradise, who claimed victory in the Classic Mile (1,600m). This race, known for its competitive field, has been a breeding ground for future champions. Little Paradise's win in the Classic Mile has undoubtedly boosted his confidence and credibility, making him a serious threat in the upcoming Group One event.

In addition to these three, the Champions Mile is expected to draw a strong field of international contenders, adding another layer of intrigue and excitement to the race. The connections of the Classic winners are keenly watching the developments, ready to pounce on any opportunity to secure their spots in the prestigious event.

The Classic Series, which includes the Hong Kong Derby, Classic Cup, and Classic Mile, is the most talked-about group of races in Hong Kong every year. These races serve as a launching pad for many top-class performers, providing them with the platform to showcase their skills and earn their place in the elite.

The Champions Mile, being the final race of the Classic Series, has always been a showcase of the best in Hong Kong racing. With the potential participation of Invincible Ibis, Stormy Grove, and Little Paradise, the race promises to be a thrilling spectacle, filled with drama and high-stakes competition.

As the date for the Champions Mile approaches, racing enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the final lineup of contenders. The connections of the Classic winners are expected to make their decisions in the coming weeks, with the ultimate goal of securing a spot in the HK$24 million feature.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club, the governing body of horse racing in Hong Kong, has always been known for its commitment to promoting and developing the sport. The Champions Mile, with its lucrative purse and prestigious status, is a testament to this dedication.

Clojure 1.11.3
Clojure 1.11.3
Clojure 1.11.3 is now available. CLJ-2843 - Reflective calls to Java methods that take primitive long or double now work when passed a narrower boxed number at runtime (Integer, Short, Byte, Float). Previously, these methods were not matched during reflection and an error was thrown. Java 21 added an overload to the method Thread/sleep in the 1-arity. When upgrading to Java 21, existing Clojure calls to Thread/sleep become reflective, but continue to work. As usual, you can detect reflection with *warn-on-reflection* and address with a type hint (here, ^long ) to choose the desired overload. Previously, passing a Short or Integer value to a reflective call like Thread/sleep that takes a long would not match, that has been corrected.
