The Cereals Event, a prominent agricultural showcase, is set to return to Andrew Ward's Heath Farm in Lincolnshire in 2027, according to organizers. This marks a significant milestone, as the event will take place on the same grounds where it was held in 2025, which was well-received by attendees. The decision to return to Ward's farm underscores the organizers' continued collaboration with the long-standing supporter of the Cereals Event.
Andrew Ward, a Lincolnshire farmer, has a history of hosting the Cereals Event, with previous instances taking place in 2004, 2008, and 2025. Ward's farm, Heath Farm, has been a staple for the event, providing a picturesque and practical setting for farmers and exhibitors alike. However, Ward has faced challenges in recent years regarding the farm's future, leading to significant changes in its operations.
In light of these changes, the 2027 Cereals Event will also involve a new farm contract partner, Porters Somerton Farms. James and Michael Porter of Porters Somerton Farms will collaborate with Ward to ensure a successful event, spanning from cultivation to show days. Porters Somerton Farms employs 17 people and is renowned for its extensive poultry operations. James Porter manages the poultry division, while Michael Porter focuses on arable operations.
The event will take place between the 9th and 10th of June 2027. Organizers have announced plans to improve the parking, traffic, and security layout at the site to enhance security and reduce congestion. To achieve this, exhibitor and visitor parking will be combined, with efforts to move traffic off the roads more efficiently.
The proposed event map, available for reference, highlights a central relocation of the Syngenta & CropLife Sprays & Sprayers Arena. This redesign aims to create a more accessible and engaging experience for attendees. Additionally, organizers are considering retaining some elements introduced during the 2026 event at Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm, such as glamping, timed tickets for traffic flow, and bus services from local and regional locations.
The Cereals Event 2027 promises to be a significant gathering, with over 25,000 farmers and 650 exhibitors expected to attend. The event will provide a platform for farmers to connect, share insights, and explore the challenges faced by the agricultural sector. With the involvement of Andrew Ward and Porters Somerton Farms, the 2027 edition is poised to be a memorable and successful occasion, continuing the rich tradition of the Cereals Event.
