Basketball: Ex-NBA-Profi O'Neal gründet Liga fürs Dunken

Shaquille O'Neal, the legendary former NBA star, is set to launch a new basketball league focused solely on dunking contests. The event, which aims to showcase the world's best dunkers, will offer a substantial cash prize to attract top talent and generate excitement among fans.

O'Neal, known for his incredible vertical leap and dominance in the NBA, has long been associated with the art of dunking. His new league, dubbed the "Dunk League," will provide a platform for players to showcase their skills in a highly competitive environment. The league will feature a series of dunking challenges, with participants vying for the title of the best dunker in the world.

The decision to create the Dunk League stems from O'Neal's belief that dunking is the most exciting aspect of basketball. He has witnessed countless memorable dunks throughout his career and now wants to celebrate this unique aspect of the sport. By organizing a dedicated league, O'Neal hopes to elevate the profile of dunking and inspire new generations of players to perfect this art.

To ensure the league's success, O'Neal has secured a significant cash prize for the winner. The exact amount has not been disclosed, but it is rumored to be in the millions of dollars. This substantial reward is intended to attract top-tier dunkers from around the globe, as well as professional basketball players looking to showcase their skills outside the standard game rules.

The Dunk League will likely feature a mix of professional athletes and amateur dunkers. Participants will be judged based on factors such as height, style, and creativity, with the ultimate goal of achieving the most impressive and memorable dunk. O'Neal has enlisted a panel of judges, including former NBA players and basketball experts, to evaluate the dunks and determine the winner.

The launch of the Dunk League is expected to generate significant buzz in the basketball community. Fans have long enjoyed dunk contests as a highlight of All-Star Weekend, but this new league will offer a dedicated platform for the sport's most thrilling moments. With O'Neal's involvement, the Dunk League is poised to become a major event in the world of basketball, celebrating the art of dunking in a way that has never been seen before.

In addition to showcasing exceptional dunking talent, the league will also serve as a platform for charitable causes. A portion of the ticket sales and sponsorship revenue will be donated to support underprivileged youth and promote basketball in underserved communities. This initiative aligns with O'Neal's long-standing commitment to giving back, as he has previously established the Shaquille O'Neal Foundation to support education and athletics.

The Dunk League will not only provide a stage for the world's best dunkers but also highlight the importance of basketball as a global sport. By focusing on a single, thrilling aspect of the game, the league aims to capture the imagination of fans and inspire new players to embrace the sport's unique challenges and rewards.

As the launch date approaches, excitement is building among basketball enthusiasts and dunking aficionados alike. The Dunk League promises to deliver unforgettable moments and redefine the way the world perceives dunking in basketball. With Shaquille O'Neal at the helm, this new league is set to become a must-watch event, celebrating the sport's most electrifying element and leaving a lasting impact on the world of basketball.

Clojure 1.11.3
Clojure 1.11.3
Clojure 1.11.3 is now available. CLJ-2843 - Reflective calls to Java methods that take primitive long or double now work when passed a narrower boxed number at runtime (Integer, Short, Byte, Float). Previously, these methods were not matched during reflection and an error was thrown. Java 21 added an overload to the method Thread/sleep in the 1-arity. When upgrading to Java 21, existing Clojure calls to Thread/sleep become reflective, but continue to work. As usual, you can detect reflection with *warn-on-reflection* and address with a type hint (here, ^long ) to choose the desired overload. Previously, passing a Short or Integer value to a reflective call like Thread/sleep that takes a long would not match, that has been corrected.
