Applications open for 3D printing internship program at Osmania University

Osmania University in Hyderabad has launched a 4-week summer internship program focused on 3D printing and its applications across various engineering fields, starting from May 11. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Centre for Product Design, Development and Additive Manufacturing (CPDDAM), a specialized 3D printing facility established at the university.

The internship program is designed for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering and technology students, offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of 3D printing. The program is open to students pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in technical fields such as mechanical engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), civil engineering, architecture, biomedical engineering, and electrical engineering.

The four-week internship will be conducted in a hybrid mode, combining online and in-person learning to cater to the diverse needs of participants. This blend of learning formats ensures that students can effectively acquire practical skills while also benefiting from the flexibility of virtual sessions.

The last date to apply for the program is Monday, April 6. Interested students are advised to visit the university's official website (www.uceou.edu) for detailed information about the program's content and any associated fees. Alternatively, they can contact the organizers via email at cpddamsummerinternship2026@gmail.com for further clarification.

Vice Chancellor of Osmania University, Professor Kumar Molugaram, emphasized that this internship program aims to equip students with advanced skills in progressive engineering fields such as additive manufacturing and 3D printing. By leveraging the facilities available at CPDDAM, the program will enable participants to enhance their technical knowledge and prepare them for the workforce. Professor Molugaram assured that the university will continue to support such initiatives, as they play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of engineers with essential new skills.

This internship program not only provides students with valuable learning experiences but also reinforces Osmania University's commitment to innovation and technological advancement. By offering opportunities in cutting-edge fields like 3D printing, the university is positioning itself as a leader in education and research, preparing its students for successful careers in the ever-evolving engineering landscape.
