And the Seed World Global Impact Award Goes to…
The seed industry has witnessed a significant milestone as the Seed World Global Impact Award 2025 for Best Event across the entire global seed sector was awarded to the Independent Professional Seed Association (IPSA). The prestigious recognition was presented to the visible surprise of IPSA CEO Todd Martin during IPSA 2026 in Indianapolis, highlighting the IPSA Conference’s influence, strong member engagement, and its role in shaping the future of the independent seed sector.
The announcement of IPSA’s win was made by Shawn Brook during the 2026 IPSA conference program. Brook, who paused the presentation to deliver the news, emphasized that Seed World travels to every seed event worldwide to recognize one event each year with the Global Impact Award for best event. This year, IPSA 2025 emerged as the deserving winner, with Brook adding that IPSA 2026 was even better. The award not only celebrates IPSA’s ability to bring the independent seed sector together but also underscores the organization’s commitment to practical, engaging, and globally relevant events.
IPSA CEO Todd Martin was visibly moved by the announcement. He expressed his gratitude and acknowledged the honor, admitting that he was speechless, a rare occurrence for him. Martin quickly credited the IPSA team, particularly Catherine Frans, for her crucial role in shaping the meeting. He highlighted that without her, the success of the event would not have been possible.
Brook further commended IPSA for setting a benchmark for what effective industry events should deliver. He praised IPSA for driving global impact through relevance, credibility, and community. The conversations that took place at the IPSA 2025 conference in Palm Springs last January played a significant role in shaping how the independent seed sector competes, innovates, and speaks with a unified voice.
This award not only acknowledges IPSA’s exceptional efforts but also serves as a testament to the organization’s dedication to fostering a strong and cohesive independent seed sector. It highlights the importance of industry events in driving engagement, collaboration, and innovation within the sector. As IPSA continues to lead the way, the seed industry can expect further groundbreaking developments and a stronger global presence.
